COMMENTS: COPE is the educational component of a substance abuse residential treatment program. Students are placed for non-educational reasons. Students are not placed by school systems, although tuition is paid by LEA.

THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: A facility for cognitively disabled adults that is comprised of a licensed education program and a nationally accredited transitional living program.
POPULATION SERVED: Cognitive disabilities, ADD, PDD, autism spectrum, Asperger's, and learning disabilities.
LICENSURE: Licensed by the CT Dept. of Developmental Services, approved by the CT Dept. of Education, and national accreditation from CARF.
COMMENTS: Services 30 residents and a small number of day students in its two-year educational program and 100+ community members through its Supported Living Program. New Asperger's Syndrome adult transition program also available for ages 18+, with individualized curriculum focusing on social communicative competencies for a currently underserved population. Chapel Haven West in Tucson, AZ serves people in the autism spectrum.
