Major tenets include the use of vigorous physical exercise to promote brain growth and learning and to release endorphins which are natural inhibitors of anxiety; the establishment of emotional stability through building trusting relationships for security and support; and stimulation of the intellect by providing instruction in the areas of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, and computer technology. Clinical services are delivered full-time on a consultative collaboration model. Similarly, language and communication is taught and implemented via a total communication approach. Group social education promotes the development of the individuality and character of each student within the group, helping each student become self-reliant as well as a self-advocate.
