AGES/GRADES: Male and female presenting and non-binary clients ages 12-18 in 12 month residential program, 220 school days. Male and female presenting and non-binary students ages 12-19 in grades 6-12 in a 220-day day school program.
THERAPEUTIC SERVICES: Access to on site clinicians; trained behavioral specialists, curriculum frameworks and common core based instruction; small student/teacher learning ratio, individualized instruction when appropriate. Crisis intervention and group intervention. Evidence-based Therapeutic Crisis Intervention system utilized to de-escalate students, intervene during periods of dysregulation, and process and plan for more positive approaches.
THERAPEUTIC ORIENTATION: Public school style and privilege application system for behavior management and incentivization. Difficult situations are viewed as a need for skill development and mastery. All students are encouraged to process challenging situations, focus on strengths and decrease their obstacles to the learning process. This is all completed with the direct support of highly qualified teachers, clinicians and behavior specialists. Teachers trained in 1:1 technology environment with wireless laptops. Staff utilize a trauma informed approach throughout the environment and engage students in a spirit of partnership and respect through motivational interviewing and other trained approaches.
POPULATION SERVED: Emotional and behavioral difficulties, ADHD, PTSD, and learning disabilities; stemming from such disorders as ADHD, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, oppositional defiant disorder. Students may also come from a background of trauma, family problems, or substance abuse.
