How to ensure psychological safety in the workplace

We’ve all had a job where the best time was quitting time. But when you can’t wait to leave, think longingly about your next vacation, feel undervalued at work, or are afraid to bring up an issue, you may be in a psychologically unsafe work environment.
Some states are taking workplace safety seriously. In late April, Rhode Island’s Senate approved a bill to ensure psychological safety and anti-bullying measures in the workplace.
The bill requires employers to establish and implement an anti-bullying policy and investigate violators. The legislation would also allow for the reinstatement of work, lost wages, medical expenses, and punitive damages. Currently, it is awaiting final approval from the House of Representatives.
