ADDICTIONS: A short-term addiction inpatient detox program for 18 years and older on 17-bed secure unit in Belmont. Partial day hospital program available. Offer 30 residential beds (30-day length of stay) along with partial hospital day program the Ambulatory Treatment Center at Naukeag in Ashburnham. McLean’s Signature Recovery Programs are self-pay, luxury treatment programs; Fernside in Princeton has 9 beds and Borden Cottage in Camden, Maine has 8 beds.
BORDERLINE PERSONALITY DISORDER: Gunderson Residence is a self-pay residential program with a minimum 60-day length of stay for women with BPD. Treatment integrates several evidence-based practices, including mentalization-based therapy and other skills-based approaches, such as cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy and psychoeducation. 13-bed HIll Center for Women offers residential treatment (~14 day length of stay) for BPD and trauma and related disorders. 3East is a specialized, self-pay treatment program for females ages 13-20, and young men ages 15-21 who are exhibiting self-endangering behaviors that often present as symptoms of borderline personality disorder, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance use disorder, or PTSD. 3East offers intensive residential (starting at 30 days), partial day hospital services, and an outpatient clinic.
CHILD/ADOLESCENT: Full continuum of services for children and adolescents with psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and addiction. Residential treatment and partial hospital programs located in both Belmont and Middleborough campuses. Child/adolescent 26-bed inpatient unit is located at Franciscan Children’s, Brighton (see Fransican’s listing for information). Schools include the Arlington School, a college preparatory high school for students with academic, social or emotional challenges; and Pathways Academy for students ages 6 to 22 with autism spectrum and related disorders.
DEPRESSION & ANXIETY: 18 years and older, on secured units, totaling 183 beds in Belmont; and 30 beds in Middleborough. McLean is also home to The Pavillion, a self-pay program designed to provide unparalleled diagnostic evaluation with emphasis on evidence-based care, discretion, flexibility, and confidentiality.
DISSOCIATIVE DISORDERS/TRAUMA: A 21-bed secure unit for adult women living with PTSD and other related symptoms. Also offer 13 residential beds (~14-day length of stay) at Hill Center for Women.
EATING DISORDERS: Residential (~30-day length of stay) available for females ages 16-26 at the Klarman Eating Disorders Center.
OLDER ADULTS: Total of 36 beds on two secure units for older adults with mood disorders and dementia (Alzheimer’s). Also several outpatient programs aimed for ages 50 and older.
SCHIZOPHRENIA AND BIPOLAR DISORDERS: 18 years and older in 43 inpatient beds for patients in psychiatric crisis. Home to Appleton, a self-pay program providing comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and longer-term rehabilitative care for adults with severe psychiatric conditions.
COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS: Home of McLean LEADER (Law Enforcement, Active Duty, Emergency Responder), providing specialized mental health and addiction services, designed specifically for men and women in uniform. Waverley Place is a comprehensive community-based rehabilitation treatment program for adults with chronic psychiatric illness. Program coordinates an array of mental health and non-mental health services, customized for each person, ranging from housing to education to employment to wellness programs.
