The Austen Riggs Center The Austen Riggs Center seeks candidates for a Clinical Psychology Fellowship specializing in psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapy within an open hospital setting. The Fellowship is conceptualized as a 2+2 year arrangement. Upon completion of the first two years of training, Fellows may be invited to continue for two years of an Advanced Fellowship in which to deepen the learning and develop areas of specialization. Fellows learn through supervised practice, formal seminars, guest lectures, meetings and case conferences about the identification, treatment, and prevention of those biological, intrapsychic, and interpersonal conditions, which lead to psychological disturbance. Fellows provide evaluation, diagnostic psychological testing, and intensive psychodynamic psychotherapy; they participate in multi-disciplinary treatment teams and also have an opportunity to participate in and study group process in a sophisticated therapeutic community program. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-accredited doctoral program and must have completed an APA-accredited internship. The clinical fellowship can begin after July 1, 2009.
